Get Home Safe

PBOT is prepared—are you? Crews are ready to respond to flooded roads, landslides, snow and ice around the clock, but there are important steps individuals must take to prepare for traveling when the weather turns bad.

Keep a well-stocked emergency kit in your vehicle at all times

Your kit should include chains, shovel, bag of sand, battery jumper cables, first aid kit, basic tools (pliers, wrench, screwdriver and knife), blanket, extra clothing (hats, socks, boots, mittens), flashlight, and cellular phone or CB Radio.

Check conditions before you go

Consider delaying travel until conditions improve. If you must travel, give yourself extra time and check weather and traffic reports before leaving
